BACKPACK & SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE
While shopping school supplies sales with your children or grandchildren, please consider helping our friends at CCIH. This is a great way for your children to learn the value of helping other school children in need. Contra Costa Interfaith Housing (CCIH) offers an after school Homework Club program for formerly homeless and low-income children. Please help prepare students to learn and improve academic and social skills. We can equip 120 promising students in Contra Costa County with the tools they need to start the school year with confidence. (You do not have to fill a backpack.) Please bring items to the blue cart by the elevator in Grace House on Sundays by noon, starting June 30th. Target, Staples, Walmart and Amazon.com have great sales. Jansport backpacks hold up well and can be very economical.
FLYER (with details)
*ITEMS DUE: Sunday, July 28th at Noon
Monetary donations are also welcome. Please make check donations payable to “CCIH”, and put “St. Timothy’s Backpack Drive” on the memo line. Give checks to the attendant at the CCIH board during coffee hour or leave in the CCIH mailbox in the church office.
Volunteers to oversee the drive, and keep collections on the blue cart tidy, and to help with delivery to CCIH in Pleasant Hill on Monday, July 29, would be so appreciated. For more info, contact Leslie Firth, firstname.lastname@example.org, 925.683.7868.
Thank you for your support to help provide school supplies to formerly homeless and low-income children in the upcoming school year. We very much appreciate your generosity and involvement!
