Thank you for considering our call for a Rector at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Danville, California.
Our formal selection process for a new Rector is underway. In August last year, we named a 10-person search committee to provide three finalists for the Vestry and Bishop’s consideration.
Since then, we have actively engaged the parish community in 15 town hall meetings, met regularly with our Vestry to report progress, conducted an online parish survey, and used social media to gather input from our youth.
The views of our parish community are widely shared across the Diocese of California (DioCal) based upon the work of the DioCal church vitality program. The Diocese of California’s Church Vitality task force found a clear consensus on what people seek from their worship experience. St. Timothy’s search process was started with those themes, asking parish members about values, new rector qualities, the experience needed, and our priorities.
Our goal is to announce our new Rector by Pentecost on June 4, 2017. This is a challenging goal but achievable with God’s help.
