Rector Search Underway
The formal selection process for a new Rector is underway. We’ve named a 10-person search committee to provide three finalists for the Vestry’s consideration. The goal is to call new Rector by Pentecost on June 4, 2017. This is a challenging goal but achievable with God’s help.
The search committee is on target to complete the parish engagement and discernment stage with approval of the parish profile. (The profile is consistent with the Office of Transition Ministry (OTM) guidelines set by the Vestry and Bishop Marc Andrus.) The open call for applications will begin in December this year and run for six weeks from January 3 – February 17, 2017.
The Diocese of California’s Church Vitality task force found a clear consensus on what people seek from their worship experience. St. Timothy’s search process starts with those themes, asking parish members about values, new rector qualities and experience needed, and naming parish priorities.
