The clergy and staff ot St. Timothy's Episcopal Church looks forward to meeting you. St. Timothy's operates under the leadership of five full-time staff, several part-time staff, and many volunteer lay leaders.
The Rev. Steven R. Strane Rector | Steven Strane was called as the second rector of St. Timothy’s in 1988. Prior to that he served at All Souls’ Parish, Point Loma, and St. Paul’s in-the-Desert, Palm Springs, both of which are located in the Diocese of San Diego. Steven describes himself as a generalist or “family practitioner.” He is involved in all areas of parish ministry, and enjoys close relationships with members of every generation. There are two themes that are played out repeatedly in Steven’s preaching, teaching and casual conversation. One is the importance of building and maintaining an intentional community of faith where individuals can be nurtured and challenged in their spiritual growth. The other is the call to enter every moment of life consciously as children of God who are seeking to live fully into the Baptismal Covenant. Steven was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, Northridge, a California K-12 Multi-Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University, and a Master of Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary. He was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood in 1978. Steven is married to Jane, and they have a daughter. He enjoys writing, reading eclectically, time at the beach and early mornings on the Iron Horse Trail. |
The Rev. Kathleen Trapani Associate Rector | Kathy Trapani joined the St. Timothy’s staff in 2001, but St. Timothy’s was her spiritual home long before that. Along with her family, she came to St. Timothy’s as a parishioner in 1994. As Associate Rector, Kathy is involved in many areas of parish life, including overseeing lay ministries. But she is most passionate about preaching and adult faith formation and education, especially when that involves helping others to discover the mystery and relevance of the Bible, to live the gospel in the world, and to challenge stretch and wrestle with our beliefs, assumptions and attitudes. We are never finished growing into all that God has created us to be, and faith formation enables this growth. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UCLA, a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Divinity from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. She was ordained to the diaconate in December, 2000 and to the priesthood in June, 2001. She and her husband, Tom, live in Danville and have four children. She especially enjoys sports, reading, cooking, and watching Bruin basketball. |
Lori Robinson Associate for Family Ministry | Lori Robinson oversees several vibrant programs for families with children at St. Timothy’s including children’s programs on Sunday morning, the Emmaus elementary fellowship group, Vacation Bible Camp and various liturgical festivals and social events. The goal of the family ministry program is to develop and support faith formation for families with children through active involvement in the church and beyond. Through worship, educational programs, social activities, and outreach projects, families are encouraged to nurture their relationship with God in their daily lives and to show God’s love in the world. Lori was previously the Director of Children’s Ministry at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Antioch, California, before joining the staff at St. Timothy’s in 2006. She has a certificate in Christian Education from The Center for Faith Formation of the Diocese of California, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Ecology with a minor in Multicultural Studies from John F. Kennedy University. Lori is a lifelong Episcopalian who grew up in southern Indiana. She worked in accounting before pursuing fulltime ministry. She is married to husband, Ty, and has a teenage son, David. A standard poodle named Vadar and a gecko named Spike completes the family. In her spare time, Lori enjoys reading, traveling with her family, and playing with the dog. |
Pat Parr Associate for Music Ministry | Pat selects music for and conducts the youth and adult choirs at St. Timothy’s, as well as sharing the responsibility of co-conducting the Emmaus Choir for Kindergarten through fifth-grade children of St. Timothy's. Pat also formed and oversees St. Timothy’s Concert Series, now in its ninth season, which produces one major musical each year as well as five concerts of eclectic styles. Pat has a Bachelor of Music in piano performance as well as a Bachelor of Music Education with emphasis on vocal education and choral conducting. He began playing piano for church at the tender age of 9 and has been involved with church music ever since. Pat is a well-known conductor in the Bay Area, having conducted the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco for eleven years as well as music directing and conducting both professional and amateur theatrical productions in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo. Pat has also been associated with the San Francisco Girls Chorus as an accompanist, theory teacher and Summer Music Camp director since 1980 and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Castro Valley Arts Foundation. Pat and his partner David live in Castro Valley with their dogs Annie and Nicholas and cats Sylvia and Crystal. | Beatriz "Bea" Pussman Secretary
| Beatriz “Bea” Morgan Pussman came to Saint Timothy's in 2001 with many years of secretarial experience. Her greatest skill is her ability to work with all kinds of people. The past six years have rewarded Bea with what she calls "On the job training.” She finds her work as a church secretary most rewarding. Look for her in the office Monday through Friday from 9:30ish to 5. With a passion for anime and cheesy romance novels, Bea is right at home on the 3rd baseline of an A’s game. She and her husband of 19 years, Larry, are originally from Alhambra and have lived in Danville for 12 years. She volunteers at the Gift Shop at San Ramon Valley Regional, an official Book for Soldiers volunteer and a member of the Porsche Club of America Diablo Region. |
