About Us
Welcome to St Timothy's PDF Print E-mail
Welcome to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church!  The most important thing we want you to know is that this is a community which welcomes and values all who seek an experience of God’s love, whoever or wherever they are on their life or spiritual journey.

St. Timothy’s was established in 1953 and is a parish in the Diocese of California.  As part of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, we are a church that is both rich with ancient tradition and relevant to life in the 21st century.

At the heart of our life together is our worship and the celebration of Holy Communion.  Our services are held at 7:30, 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, and 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  We also work to extend God’s love and care beyond our parish community by way of our personal and financial commitment to service and outreach.

We hope that your exploration of this website will give you a sense of this community, our worship and the many and varied ministries and programs available for adults, youth and children.  We invite you to join us, and hope that you will find St. Timothy’s a place to make your spiritual home.

What We Believe PDF Print E-mail
Essential to our common faith is the belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, who died on the cross and rose again to bring new life for all people. We hold to essentials of the Nicene Creed: the Incarnation (that Jesus was the Son of God who came into the world and lived a human life) and the Trinity (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God in three “persons” or expressions). We further believe that the Bible is the revealed word of God, which speaks to us in our own time and place, and which may be interpreted through the use of tradition and reason.

The Episcopal Church is a church of relatively little doctrine, and does not dictate interpretation or practice. Indeed, it allows for a broad spectrum of understanding, opinion and expression. The Episcopal/Anglican Church is distinctive in that it finds its unity and identity in its worship, and it is here, in talking to and with God, that we express what we believe about God. Therefore, the sources of our written theology are in our books of worship, namely the Book of Common Prayer and the Hymnal.
